How to increase web traffic

Here are 10 tips to increase your web traffic:

* Content: Your website should have unique and informative content. Your content should be keyword rich. You can add videos, flash presentations, PDF brochures, time dated newsletters, blogs, forums, etc. Your content rich website will be a valuable commodity in the World Wide Web if it offers quality information. Proofread your content carefully, excessive typographical errors and improper grammar can decrease your site's potential (and valuable) respect level.

* Keywords: The use of proper keywords is, frankly, the "key" to success in SEO Website Promotion
. Not only should keywords relating to your site be embedded into the code ("metatags") they should be sprinkled about your content. (See our Search Engine Optimization page for more information on optimizing your website for the search engines to be able to display your website prominently on web search results.) Think of what your business niche is, and tailor your keywords to terms that a user who is looking for information, products, and services that you offer may type into a search engine. Also, do not overdo it with the keywords, the search engine "spider" may overlook you or down-rank you in response.

* Links: Links are extremely important to directing users to your website. Link building is a part of your Internet Marketing plan, and requires good content to attract other websites to link to you. You can also get links from Web Directories, although this often happens as a "no-follow" link (the Search Engines are not able to detect the source of traffic to your website) but it may result in a spike in traffic which may increase your bottom line.

* Ads : Properly placed advertisements can result in a large boost in traffic. You can advertise in search engine results, Ad servers (such as Google AdSense), or on other websites with traditional classified ads or banners.

* Social Networking: It is often helpful to search for relevant blogs, forums, and other social networking sites. You can post informative and helpful content there, and often will be able to link to your website via your signature or username.

* Multimedia add-ons: You can have videos, pdf file generation, and other such useful add-ons to your website. This idea is only limited by your imagination!

* Newsletters: You can promote an email newsletter via user registration. Make sure the newsletter content is relevant and up-to-date. If it provides a valuable service, users will notify others about it or even post about it on social networking sites, both of which can drive new traffic to your website.

* Press Releases and articles: You can post press releases on PR sites, and articles on article hosting sites. If your information grabs the user, they will go to your site from such press releases and articles.

* Blog : Have a blog attached to your website. Whether catering to a specific niche or a wider market, this can be a very effective method of attracting traffic if done well. Be sure to respond to queries, involve yourself in the conversation, and keep the comments section free of spam and trolls. A "troll" is a user who argues just for the sake of arguing and often chases away intelligent debate and conversation. Make your blog a welcoming and comfortable place to hang out and your site will gain not only reputation but also loyalty!

* Reviews: Ask for reviews of your website on blogs, etc., which are noted to often review good websites and have high traffic. Although links garnered via this method may include "no-follow" tag, it will increase your traffic.

4 Deadly SEO Mistakes You Must Avoid

Are you getting mediocre results from SEO? If yes, this article is for you. To achieve success with SEO, you must target the right key phrases and build links consistently. It is a continuous process - not a one-time effort.

With this in mind, let us take a look at the 4 deadly SEO mistakes that you must avoid at all cost. These are the mistakes that many optimizers made that prevent them from getting successful results:

1. You do not tag your pages with relevant key phrases. This is the most common mistake that many webmasters made. I believe you have seen websites that place only their company names in their Title tags. Title tags are words that appear on the top left hand side of your Internet browser. You must place keywords in your Title tag because search engines give a lot of weight to it. The title tag is like the Title of a book. It tells readers what the book is about. Likewise, the title tag tells search engines what your website is about. If you are trying to get higher rankings for a keyword but it is not present in your title tag, it is very hard for search engines to award you with high rankings. Therefore, make sure that your title tag describes the content of your page and place important keywords right at the front of it.

2. You do not have enough content or your content is outdated. SEO is more than just tagging your pages. You need to have enough content for search engines to read. To rank high on search engine listings, you must place keywords in your content. Moreover, if your website content is outdated, search engines will visit your site less often, and thus view it as less important. This also prevents your site from getting higher rankings in search engine listings.

3. You optimize the wrong keywords. If you are trying to optimize keywords that are too generic, it is very hard for you to achieve success from your SEO effort. This is because you will get yourself into a more competitive battlefield with other optimizers. So, spend some time to do your research and look for key phrases with lesser competition but relevant to your business. Remember that if you optimize keywords that are not relevant or too generic, even if you achieve high rankings for them, there will be no conversion.

4. You do not build link consistently. Link building is a process of getting more incoming links to your website. Quality inbound links will help your website to achieve higher rankings for competitive keywords. But link building is a continuous process. If you never do it consistently, you will not achieve good result from SEO. So, always build links consistently by using article marketing, blog commenting, directory submissions, and other common strategies that optimizers are using.

These are the 4 deadly SEO mistakes that you must avoid at all cost. Good luck!

How to choose Specialist SEO

There are lots of internet marketing SEO experts in the market at the moment but the truth is that many of them can not provide the results they claim. You really have to be on the lookout for the search engine specialist that not only knows what he or she is saying but have some proven track records to show for his or her active experience in the industry. There are some issues you must consider while searching for an SEO specialist or while interviewing one.

Nobody would argue with the fact that your internet marketing campaigns needs the services of an SEO specialist to boost the search engines visibility of your online enterprises but your shouldn't dive in blindly if you must come out with the required positive results. Knowing that Google takes up as much as over 60 percent of all the searches made on the internet daily is good, but realizing that your site needs to be pushed through the growing video marketing, periodic press releases, social media advertising e.t.c. would be an added advantage for any SEO consultant who can readily provide internet marketing plans for these marketing routes.

Any internet marketing campaign marketing or socializing, as it is, on facebook, for instance, may be leaving lots of room for the competitors because facebook has almost half a billion users worldwide and its still growing. If you find a way of placing your ads campaigns in front of 1/100th of facebook users, your business will never remain the same. Having such ideas should be a big plus for any SEO specialist that is worth considering. Certain other factors such as; what your prospects want, who your target prospects are, where they can be located, their needs, they way they search for the solutions to their problems, your competitors and what they are doing should all be considered before marshalling out any search engine optimization plan that will be fruitful. You may have to throw these considerations to the SEO consultant you are interviewing to know how deep their services would be.

In any internet marketing business, the search engine optimization plan used in one area may not yield the same result when used in another niche so there is need for the SEO expert to come to terms with your peculiar online enterprise and figure out the best way of delivering the search engine optimization goals of your business. You should also be aware of the several changes that usually take place in the search engine optimization industry and try to find out if the SEO consultant you want to align with is conversant with these changes. Some of the other factors to be considered include.

What are the basic experiences of the SEO consultant? What type of values do they offer to their clients and are those clients? Are they are verifiable results of their past or recent SEO campaigns? Your internet marketing campaigns will soar with appropriate SEO strategy but getting the proper SEO expert to handle the job should be considered.

SEO tips for Bing & Yahoo

First off, if you are not currently ranked for your keyword in Google, that should be your first priority. Google dominates the searches for most keywords, and is your main focus. If you already have high rankings in Google, and you are looking to increase your SEO in Bing and Yahoo, here are a few suggestions.

Yahoo is still heavily targeting meta tags and titles. Be sure that you have relevant content in your article. Standard on-page optimization is key.

Yahoo and Bing are also slower when it comes to indexing, so you may want to push a few links to your site to speed up the process. This will allow the spiders to crawl it a little faster.

Another good idea is to submit your site in the Yahoo Directory. It costs something like $197, but it will give you a major boost the in the searches for Yahoo.

These are just a few ways that you can boost your rankings in these search engines. Again, I highly recommend that you work on Google first, unless your Google Analytics state that you are receiving more traffic from Yahoo or Bing.

Side Note: Most businesses use Yahoo for searching for business news, stocks, etc. So if you are targeting these keywords, then focus more on Yahoo.

SEO is a game and it changes on a daily basis. So you need to stay updated with the latest link building, SEO optimization strategies, and Google updates to be successful. Always be thinking long term, and always improve and move forward!

How to Get Backlinks

If you plan on monetizing your website in any fashion then you need to do some serious backlinking to help get you to the top of Google. Depending on the amount of competition for the particular keyword(s) you are targeting, you will need as few as 20 to possibly thousands of backlinks.

The obvious question then is "How to GET Backlinks?"

Backlinking does not have to be hard, however it can be tedious at times because it can involve manually submitting articles, signing up to many different services, forums, networks like facebook and myspace and posting on other blogs.

When you read a blog you can usually leave a comment at the bottom. In this area you are allowed to leave a link, so you leave your website url and it will count as a backlink.

When you are a member of a forum you can include a signature that appears at the bottom of every post that you make. Your signature can be a link to your websites and you can often leave more than one. If you provide valuable info on your forum posts, people will be more inclined to click on your signature links.

Social bookmarking-This has become quite the rage today and it involves bookmarking your site. This essentially tells other people about your site, and if they like it then they in turn can also bookmark it. Bookmarking is like a popularity contest and the more people who are bookmarking your sites, the more links you are getting and also the more traffic you get because you will get better exposure from all the bookmarking.

Backlinking Services- are another very valuable service in your aresenal of backlinks. These services work by sending out posts that you make to thousands of directories creating thousands of one way back links to your website. These services are well worth the money!
